At Schoolhouse In The Woods we give homeschooled children the community, access to nature,
and the hands-on lost skills that modern education forgot.
Instructors who respect your values: A place where your approach to raising and educating your kids is the norm, not the exception.
A likeminded community: Qualilty socialization with peers who share your child's values and way of life.
Connected to nature: Getting kids outside to explore and enjoy the natural world.
Life skills and real confidence: Students learn hands-on skills that build agency and independence.
I started following the healthy eating tips, and within weeks I felt more energetic and focused. Truly life-changing!
The guidance on balanced meals helped me improve my diet without feeling restricted. I feel lighter and happier every day.
Simple, practical, and effective advice. My family and I now enjoy nutritious meals together, and we’re all healthier for it.
Lost skills are the hands-on, foundational skills that previous generations passed down naturally, but that modern life has largely left behind. Think foraging, fire building, archery, weaving, bread baking, and canoeing. They build critical thinking, problem solving, and self-reliance in ways traditional academics alone simply don't. At Schoolhouse In The Woods, lost skills are the heart of everything we do. Request your free intro packet to see the full lost skills schedule for this season.
Montessori is a child-led approach to education developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s. It focuses on hands-on learning in an environment thoughtfully prepared to bring out the best in every child. At Schoolhouse In The Woods, we apply Montessori principles to create a space where children develop independence, build real confidence, and learn at their own pace, outdoors, with their hands, and in community with others.
